With regard to the calculation of the moment of motion of a human body in rotation, several calculation methods have been proposed. However, research on comparing these computational methods with possible sources of error, methodological complexity, and applicability has not been conducted. The purpose of this article is to compare the methods of calculating body momentum given by Miller, Ramey, and Sea-Wilson. Miller method requires the body to maintain a quasi-rigid posture in the absence of external force. The whole body’s moment of inertia for the horizontal axis, IT, is calculated from the film’s picture data using the link model and the parallel shift axis theorem. Body speed ω is determined from the angular displacement of many movie pictures. The formula for calculating the body’s momentum moment HT on the horizontal axis is HT = ITω.
