Diabetes aldosterone system activity, excessive aldosterone and mineralocorticoid binding, involved in the occurrence and development of diabetic nephropathy. There is growing evidence that aldosterone antagonists have a significant protective effect against aldosterone-induced renal damage and that its mechanism of action is not solely dependent on hemodynamic changes. This article summarizes the potential role of aldosterone and its antagonists in diabetic nephropathy in recent years.
