对于在远程教育中提倡更广泛地使用信息与通讯技术的人士,他们往往忽视了考虑现代技术在教、学及管理中运用所面临的特殊挑战。为了帮助人们分析如何在远程教育中恰当地应用现代技术,本文作者提出了技术运用的四条基本原理:避免偏见、洞察谬论、寻求平衡、独立与互动。首先,我们必须避免偏见,尤其是技术经销商为了商业利润而提出的“技术改进一切”的观点。其次,我们要洞察谬误,以批判的眼光去看问题,而不是被某些流行的观点所误导。第三,我们应该对技术有全面的认识,在教育中寻求现代技术与人的运用之间的平衡;第四,我们应将学习活动看作是独立与互动的结合。英国开放大学是应用这些原则的成功典范。
They often overlook the special challenges of considering the use of modern technology in teaching, learning and management for those who advocate wider use of information and communication technologies in distance education. In order to help people analyze how to apply modern technology appropriately in distance education, the authors propose four basic principles of technology use: avoiding prejudices, penetrating fallacies, seeking balance, independence and interaction. First and foremost, we must avoid prejudices, especially the technical innovations that technology dealers make for business profits. Second, we need to understand the fallacies and look at the issues from a critical perspective, rather than being misled by some popular ideas. Thirdly, we should have a comprehensive understanding of technology and seek a balance between the application of modern technology and human beings in education. Fourthly, we should regard learning as a combination of independence and interaction. The Open University of the United Kingdom is a successful example of applying these principles.
