Male rats were orally administered with Trigonella foenum-graecum seed extract (100 mg/d) for 60 days and the extract contained 0.6% cholesterol saponin. The study found that semen volume and sperm energy dynamics decreased significantly, leading to negative fertility tests. The weight of the testis, epididymis, ventral prostate, and seminal vesicle decreased significantly. In addition to testicular sialic acid, the total protein and sialic acid concentration of the epididymis, seminal vesicle, and ventral prostate, as well as the total protein of the testis were significantly lower.
