According to the monitoring data of surface seawater in December 2006 (winter) and April 2007 (spring) of Xinghua Bay in Fujian Province and surface sediments in March 2007, the contents of heavy metals Cu, Pb, Zn Pb, Zn, Cd, Hg and As in the surface waters of the survey area in winter were respectively calculated as <0.20 ~ 2.42, <0.03 ~ 1.08, <3.1 ~ 16.5, <0.010 ~ 0.043, <0.007 ~ 0.170,0.82 ~ 4.00μg / dm3 in spring. The contents ranged from 0.91 to 3.80, from 0.18 to 3.40, from 8.7 to 36.0, 0.22, <0.007 ~ 0.063 and 0.63 ~ 1.58μg / dm3, respectively. The measured values of heavy metals in surface seawater of these two seasons were lower than the second standard values of “seawater quality standard (GB 3097-1997) , And the average Cd content was higher than that in winter, which may be related to the impact of terrestrial heavy metal pollutants into the sea.The content of Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Hg and As in the surface sediments of Xinghua Bay ranged from 7.60 to 22.00 and from 22.4 to 39.1 , 54.2 ~ 114.0,0.045 ~ 0.082,0.020 ~ 0.066,5.00 ~ 10.20 mg / kg, all lower than that of ”Ocean Sediment quality (GB 18668-2002). "The surface distribution of heavy metals in the surface seawater and sediment of the bay is characterized by a high level of nearshore sea area. In addition, the comparison of monitoring results over the years shows that, The multiple monitoring values of Cu and Pb in the surface seawater and sediments of Xinghua Bay are close, but the monitoring value of heavy metal Zn content fluctuates.
