随着计算机技术和通信技术的迅速发展,数字视频在信息社会中发挥着越来越重要的作用。但由于视频图像数据量巨大,在传输与存贮的过程中势必造成很大的困难,因此相应的视频压缩编码技术已成为当今研究的热点。而大规模集成电路技术的发展使实时的视频压缩和传输成为可能。虽然使用现有的视频压缩编码专用芯片进行的系统开发较简单,但是芯片价格较昂贵,使用灵活性欠缺,通用性和升级性较差。并且涉及到知识产权等一系列问题,所以在硬件平台上进行视频图像压缩编码的设计无论是在实践还是在理论研究方面都具有重大的意义。
With the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, digital video plays an increasingly important role in the information society. However, due to the huge amount of video image data, it is bound to cause great difficulties in the process of transmission and storage. Therefore, the corresponding video compression coding technology has become a hot spot in the research. The development of large-scale integrated circuit technology makes real-time video compression and transmission possible. Although the system development using the existing dedicated chip for video compression coding is relatively simple, the chip is more expensive, less flexible in use and less versatile and upgradeable. And involves a series of questions such as intellectual property, so the design of video image compression coding on the hardware platform is of great significance both in practice and in theoretical research.
