早期阅读不是传统意义上的读书、识字,也不仅仅是指让学龄前幼儿凭借变化着的色彩、图像和成人的形象描述来理解低幼读物内容的过程。它应具有更广、更深的内涵和外延,早期阅读是指在幼儿园阶段,以图画读物为主,以看、听、说有机结合为主要手段,从兴趣入手,萌发幼儿热爱图书的情感,丰富幼儿阅读经验,提高阅读能力,发展想象、思维、表达能力,从而为幼儿入学正规书面语言学习做好准备的一种寓教于乐的语言活动。
