In 1975， Cobain’s parents were divorcedwhen he was only 8 years old. Under the circumstances， hechose music as a way to escape reality. Cobain’s fa-ther joined a record club and every month he would give Cobain some records as small gifts.Cobain heard a lot of famous rock singers in these records， such as Aerosmith，Led Zeppelin，Black Sabbath，Kiss...On the 20th of February，1981，Cobain wanted a guitar as his birthday present, and from then on， he began his mu-sic career. Once he came across a report about the Sex Pistols， and Punk became his faith， deep-rooted at the bottom of his heart.
Chris Novoselic， Cobain’s school-mate was acquainted withCobain when rehearsing at Melvins. And in 1987， Aaron Burckhard became a member of the group studio—the drummer. Finally they made up the embryo of Nirvana. In April，1991，Nirvana signed a contract with Geffen， a music stutio. In September， the album Nevermind was born， and it sold about 500 thousand volumes only in five weeks. It was a big commercial success.

In September，1993， the famous composer Steve Albini came to them andthey published a new album In Utero with his help. Steve Albini tried to produce a pure album of Punk， for this， he used many richer source materials than before.
On the 18th of November 1993， Nirvana was invited to make an un-plugged concert for MTV. After that, some songs were released on the album Unplugged In New York. On March first，1994， Nirvana gave a performance in Munich， German. And it was the last time that the band worked in public.
On April 8th，1994， when Cobain was found in his house by an electrician, he was dead with a letter beside him. The police in Seatle said that he had committed suicide 3 days before. And the band was finished. In 1996， in order to commemorate him， an album， FromThe Muddy Blanks of the Wishkan， which included 17 live songs by Nirvana，was born.
