Collected Poems in English was published last year by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996). Although amassed as thick as 540 pages (excluding works that have been selected for publication in Selected Poems, his first English-language collection of poems published in 1973), this book represents only one-third of all his Russian poetry. Brigham Young was recognized as the greatest poet in Russia in the second half of the twentieth century, and the publication of this collection of poems was a major event for non-Russian readers of Russian poetry.
