The main elements, trace elements and Sr, Nd and Ph isotopes of the system were determined for the northern Tertiary volcanic rocks (determined by the age of K-Ar). These data show that the Early Tertiary volcanic rocks were mainly calc-alkaline, followed by Is alkaline and is significantly geochemically distinct from the Late Tertiary and Quaternary volcanic rocks, especially since the Early Tertiary pendulum from southern North China originated from enriched lithospheric mantle (EM II) An enriched mantle may be the remnant of the mantle wedge formed during the Indosinian Yangtze subduction to the North China continent.
