Objective To investigate the relationship between the blood pressure level of our pilots and the epidemiology of cardiovascular risk factors. Methods The annual physical examination data of PLA pilots were selected to analyze the blood pressure, blood lipid, serum uric acid, body mass index (BMI), the prevalence of hypertension and hyperlipidemia among various blood pressure groups. Results ① The data of 1 171 Chinese were 1 135 valid and complete. There were 386 normal subjects (33.4 ± 7.6) years old, 704 normal high blood pressure patients (35.0 ± 8.3 years), 45 hypertensive patients (44.6 ± 7.3) years old, Rate of 45.9%, overweight and obesity rate of 58.5%, abdominal obesity rate of 25.9%, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, diabetes, hyperuricemia prevalence were 3.97%, 22.38 %, 25.99%, 1.23% and 17.71% .③The age, waistline and blood glucose levels in each group were significantly different (all P <0.01). The prevalence of abdominal obesity in hypertension group was significantly higher than that in normotensive group (P <0.01, P <0.05). The BMI, overweight and obesity rates and smoking rates in hypertension group and normal high blood pressure group were significantly higher than those in normal group (P <0.01 or P <0.05); ④ Patients with one or more cardiovascular risk factors accounted for 80.65%, and there was significant difference (P <0.01 or P <0.05) in the focus of cardiovascular risk factors among different blood pressure groups. Conclusions The cardiovascular risk factors of our pilots are high, and the intervention of controlled risk factors should be strengthened.
