There are two kinds of romantic irony that have profoundly influenced Marx: the irony of current limited things and the irony of absolute perfection and infinite absoluteness. The first kind of irony implies a pure subjectivity, a critique of the existential existence on the basis of the metaphysical supremacy; yet it is subject to the second type of irony. The second kind of irony is ridiculed of metaphysics, pure subject, and absolute existence, that it can not be actually achieved, and that it can only be approached artificely and instantly. Two kinds of irony contain each other, both can not be neglected. The development of the second kind of irony, in which the first kind of irony is lost, will directly lead to the proliferation of nihilism and secularisation. The contemporary Chinese Marxist philosophy spares no effort in radical opposition to abstract and metaphysical tendencies to harbor such risks.
