The novel of the American Jewish writer Henri Roth shows clear Jewishness in a non-contradictory way. Roth’s novels focused on shaping Jewish people, showing Jewish life and showing dominant Jewishness. In his fictional text hides the cultural motifs and cognitive models with Jewish features, showing hidden Jewishness. At the same time, Ruth relentlessly criticized the Jewish tradition and rendered his work an ironic Jewish character. Roth’s writing on Jewishness is a metaphor for the plight of the traditional and changing Jewish civilization, which is of great significance.
