Objective To investigate the effects of benzene exposure on laboratory workers and workers’ peripheral blood. Methods A total of 249 benzene workers (lab technicians, loading and unloading workers, 157 workers) and 90 textile workers in a petrochemical enterprise were inspected for blood tests, and the concentrations of benzene in laboratories, loading and unloading workers and operators were tested. Results The over-standard rates of fixed-point samples from laboratory workers, loading and unloading workers and working places were 11.90% and 3.70%, respectively, and the exceeding rates of individual tests were all 0.00%. Compared with the control group, the WBC counts of labors, (P <0.05). The detection rate of peripheral blood damage of laboratory workers and dockers was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Laboratory workers, loading and unloading workers benzene more serious than the standard, benzene exposure to peripheral blood damage is more serious.
