Charlene Barshefsky was the U.S. trade representative during the Clinton administration and one of the three giants of the U.S. federal government in charge of the economy. During her term of office, China and the United States finally reached an agreement on bilateral negotiations on China’s accession to the WTO that lasted for 13 years. The conclusion of this agreement has directly contributed to China’s accession to the WTO and has had a far-reaching impact. As Pap’s said, the agreement is a “win-win” outcome of mutual benefit between the two countries, which is conducive to the development of relations between the United States and China. Today, Pab’s retired from the position of the federal government and returned to the old business - as a lawyer. Not long ago, she visited China at the invitation of the CCPIT. With this opportunity, our correspondent interviewed witnesses at this historic moment.
