There is no ditch and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, there is no Yangzhou City. Today, commemorating the founding of Yangzhou City in 2500, I feel that I can well write down the history of the canal and sing hymns for the canal. On June 22, 2014, there was one good news related to Yangzhou: At the 38th World Heritage Convention in Doha, China’s Grand Canal was listed in the “World Heritage List.” As a result, children from all provinces in the banks of the Grand Canal, from Gongchen Bridge in Hangzhou to Zhougou site outside Yangzhou to the silver ingot bridge in Beijing, were very happy to hear their adventures.
