教育是一项“慢”的事业。这是由教育的本质所决定的,也是由学生的成长规律所决定的。然而,社会的功利与浮躁日渐强大,在内外重压之下,许多学校进退失据,开始用经济的观点看待教育的一切:回报快的在校园里得到重视,比如分数和奖项;而回报慢的则被有意无意地忽视了,比如创造力的培养和日常课堂的改革。让教育远离浮躁,不是一件容易的事。湖北省襄阳市昭明小学提出,小学是基础教育的基础,根基不牢,会地动山摇,任何急功近利或妄自菲薄都是危险的、不可取的。他们从阅读抓起,从每一节课堂抓起,在平平淡淡的教育生活中,创造了一个又一个的荣光:“全国特色学校”、“全国创新型学校”、“湖北省综合阅读试点学校”、“全国校本德育创新基地”。
