At the just-concluded forum of Beijing Fortune Forum, Wang Xudong, minister of the Ministry of Information Industry, solemnly said: “China promises to provide 3G technical services in 2008,” which is not only the first time that the Chinese government has started the 3G service agenda, but also gives many urgent expectations China’s 3G business opportunities for telecom giants a powerful reassurance. But for how 3G develops, he said “a very important issue in the 3G promotion process is that it ultimately depends on the degree of technological development and market development.” The diplomatic rhetoric like this also tells telecom equipment manufacturers that the dawn before dark has not yet come, and that the dawn is ahead.
