Prolonged exposure to high levels of oxygen can cause so-called “oxygenated” acute lung injury, with the most severe alveoli, the degree of damage depending on oxygen concentration and exposure time. Studies have shown that 100% pure oxygen inhalation is safe for at least 24 hours, but also found to be accompanied by temporary dysfunction of the lower respiratory tract; high concentrations of oxygen 2 to 3 days may cause permanent damage to the lung tissue structure. This paper further elucidates the toxicity and mechanism of oxygen to the lung through human test. Sixteen (male 10 female 6) healthy volunteers were enrolled in a two-phase trial. Air stage: Free air in normal air room for 2 weeks. Oxygen Stage: Breathe with an oxygen-masked mask at a concentration of at least 95% until symptoms appear. 10 cases of air phase after the first oxygen stage; 4 cases of oxygen stage after the first phase of the air to observe the recovery; 2 cases in the oxygen phase
