Objective: To investigate the value of the osteopontin-positive macrophages for predicting the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.Methods: (1) We used the immunohistochemistry method todetect the expression of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs)and their subtypes in 159 NSCLC patients; (2) We used the immunofluorescence method to investigate osteopontin(OPN) expression in TAMs and NSCLC tumor cells as well as to investigate the value of the OPN-positive macrophages for predicting the prognosis of NSCLC patients.
