Objective: The aim of the study was to establish the cephalometric variables among the common lateral cephalogram, isolated right and left sides cephalogram, which were generated from 3D volume dataset, in subjects with facial asymmetry which caused by condylar osteochondroma. Methods: A total of twenty patients diagnosised with lateral condylar osteochondroma were included in this study. The lateral cephalograms (2-Dimension, 2D) were created from 3-dimesion (3D) volume dataset, and the 3D dataset was generated by computed tomography (dolphin imaging 11.7, Dolphin Imaging and Management Systems). We created the lateral cephalograms from the whole skull, the right half and left half of the skull. The groups were classified by the way we created cephalograms.Group 1 included whole skull created cephalograms, group 2 and group 3 were cephalograms created from right and left half skull respectively.Cephalometric analysis of each patient was performed on all 2D cephalograms that were created. The measurement values that usually used in pre-surgical planning were studied. And after the cephalometric analysis was finished, we further studied the difference between the three groups.
