Turpentine oil,known as a forest product from pine trees,is a renewable and abundant raw material in the world.Its dominant constituent is α-pinene.Due to the broad bioactivities of α-pinene,synthesis of α-pinene-based bioactive compounds has become an important aspect in the development and utilization of turpentine oil.[1-6] In this work,a series of novel myrtenal-based 1,2,4-triazole-thioether compounds were designed and synthesized by a multiple-step procedure using α-pinene as starting material.
