Electrospinning is a process capable of producing fibers from materials of diverse origins, including polymers, with diameters in the nano-to micrometer range.Because of their unique characteristics, such as high surface area to volume or mass ratio, high porosity of the obtained fiber matrices, etc., the electrospun fibers are potentially useful as scaffolding substrates for biomedical engineering, catalyst supports, sensors, and filters.
