Nanotechnology-based delivery systems were intensively studied for application on chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy.Hematoporphyrin (HP), a major molecule in erythrocyte, was used in photodynamic therapy and tumor targeting.In this present study, a simple PEGylated hematoporphyrin (HPP)-based nanoparticle system was designed to load doxorubicin (HPPD) in achieving synergistic chemotherapy and photodynamic treatment of tumors.
