Objective: To elucidate the influence of a spiritual nursing care program on the social support and quality of life of elderly patients with tumors.Methods: A total of 99 hospitalized elderly cancer patients were randomly divided into an experimental group (47 cases)and a control group (52 cases).The control group received conventional nursing intervention; the experimental group received conventional nursing intervention with spiritual care interventions.Spiritual care intervention was carried out twice a week with a total of eight sessions.Results from thesetwo programs before and after intervention were respectively compared using the social support rating scale (SSRS) and the World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire(WHOQOL-100).
