Neutrophils are the first line of host defense against invading microorganism or other inflammatory stimuli in the innate immune system, and contribute to inflammation-related tissue injuries, associated with several human diseases including asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, atherosclerosis, etc.
