Learning Environment Design from the Perspective of Knowledge Management

  Since we started making use of a steady flow of knowledge management systems such as Moodle,Blog and Discuz etc.,for facilitating learning,we have always harbored a dream.And here it is: One day,instructors and learning environment designers all over the world harmoniously cooperate with each other aiming at solving the problems in the practical context of learning and teaching creatively and efficiently.All the same they are open with each other with mutual trust.Now we have remained the same belief all along that only being skilled learning environment designers and implementers can achieve their instructional goals for the promotion and development of learners ideally.Knowledge management is a process applied to enterprises for acquiring,storing,studying,participating and innovating in order to enhance the productivity,capability of meeting an emergency and quick-reaction of organizations or individuals successfully.It can integrate discipline-specific learning resources to efficiently proceed with actual instructional design,thus,enhancing personal knowledge accumulation for organization knowledge management,classification and orderly process in accordance with the actual needs of absorbing knowledge,and facilitating creative solutions to the problems in learning and teaching.These years in our learning and teaching activities,we deeply felt so much inspiration relating to learning science and technology theories bursting out of my mind.More and more people are already aware of the magic power of applying their internalizedtacit knowledge into practice and vice versa.As weare Chinese online learning environment designer and instructor of English as a foreign language,we experienced so much painfully and helplessly sometimes,and fortunately we never gave up.This paper is to focus on our exploring and practice of learning environment design from the perspective of knowledge management.
