Vulvar Cancer affects approximately 3000-4000 women in the United States yearly.It makes up approximately 4% of the female genital cancers reported in the U.S.per year.Vulvar reconstruction is an integral part of restoring the individuality and sexual identity of the afflicted patient.Many methods have been tried for reconstruction after radical vulvar surgery for invasive cancer.Most techniques have focused on basic wound coverage.These basic wound-covering techniques have had problems with healing, loss of sensation in some cases, urinary difficulties, and sexual complaints.
