After China entered WTO, there appear more and more Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run programs.Led by CEC (China Electricity Council), ten vocational colleges in electric industry have cooperated with Australian Chisholm College since 2003.This thesis applies theories of bilingual education and second language acquisition to conduct an empirical study on cooperatively-run program of bilingual education in Jiangxi Vocational and Technical College of Electricity.It alms at studying the status of bilingual education in this college and the effects of bilingual education on English proficiency and subject knowledge.By investigating and evaluating the results of bilingual education in this program, we may draw some lessons, borrow some ideas from it and promote this kind of educational form in universities or colleges, thus enhance the English proficiency of Chinese students in both cooperatively-run programs and non-cooperatively-run programs.
