　　The fluorescent carbonaceous nanodots (CDs) were suitable for biomedical applications owing to their excellent photoluminescent properties.However, their toxicity has not been evaluated sufficiently.In this study, we demonstrated both CDs and PEGylated CDs (PEG-CDs) displayed low cytotoxicity to several cell lines with the concentration as high as 1 mg/mL, and autophagy might involve in the cytotoxicity.
