This paper chooses ten pieces of political news reports from AP and AFP respectively concerning five political events as two corpora to make a stylistic analysis on linguistic features of political news from the two news agencies. The analyzing process includes graphological level, lexical level, syntactic level, and semantic level with detailed analysis on each level. In order to have a quantitative study on the two corpora, the paper uses the software Wordsmith to calculate relevant statistics in need. The results of analysis on the four levels show that there are both similarities and differences between political news reports from the two news agencies. The similarities, such as in reporting structure and paragraphing, are shared almost by most news media with similar style. The differences can be found on each level in the regard of some detailed aspects and the underlying reason might be associated with the native language background of journalist, stance of news agencies and others.
