The ORF2 protein of hepatitis E virus (HEV) is essential for the attachment and cell entry of the virus, but their mechanisms are still unknown because of the lack of isolated virus and a reliable cell culture system.We have previously produced a particulate ORF2 protein-p239, which had good immunogenicity and reactivity, and has been confirmed to have a simulated structure compared with native viruses.Here we use p239 as a bait to study the interaction between HEV and cellular proteins.p239 was tagged with a calmodulin binding peptide (CBP), and expressed and purified from E.Coli.
