High-performance separation of ultrasmall volume sample is crucial to modern biochemical analysis and microfluidics has significantly contributed to the miniaturization and improvement of separation efficiency.Recently, biochemical processes have been comprehended as an ensemble of single cells which are totally different each other, which requires novel techniques for single cell analysis.Previously, we have discovered specific properties of water (high viscosity, low dielectric constant and high proton mobility) confined in a nanofabricated channel.
