美术的发展虽有本身的逻辑,也与社会环境的变迁息息相关,尤其受到政治情境和经济状况的制约,台湾的美术发展亦不例外。雕塑在过去,是台湾美术项目中较弱的一环,其发展也一直未受到应有的注意。究其原因,不外是观感中的雕塑往往只是伟大人物塑像之类的工作而已,难与旨趣宏高的绘画相提并论。然而随着时代步伐的进程,雕塑在台湾已跃升上艺术舞台,并成为诸多美术项目中的显学,近年来的发展备受关注。战后台湾雕塑的发展因文化环境的转换大致可分为几个阶段。 Although the development of fine arts has its own logic, it is also closely linked to changes in the social environment.
