Transition metal catalyzed radical cross-coupling(RCC)reactions represent a robust, new tool for the construction of C-C and C–heteroatom bonds.1 In this context, despite the extensive utility of alkyl halides in this single electron transfer(SET)induced variant,a great deal of effort has recently been devoted to developing other novel radical precursor classes to realize a broader range of compatible coupling partners and more versatile functional groups in forging new bonds to sp3-hybridized carbon centers.
