The combination of organic polymers and inorganic magnetic nanoparticles is interesting for controlled drug delivery [1].Our previous study has shown that hydroxycamptothecin (HCPT)-loaded magnetic nanovehicles display effective antitumor efficacy [2].Herein,RGDC (arginine-glycineaspartic acid-cysteine) tetrapeptide functionalized and HCPT-encapsulated magnetic nanohybrids (RFHEMNs) were fabricated by co-encapsulating superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and HCPT into maleimide-terminated poly (ethylene glycol)-poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (Mal-PEG-PLGA)copolymer micelles,followed by covalently conjugating RGDC to the surface of the micelles (Fig.1).
