Granular conductors form a new class of artificial materials with tunable electronic propertiescomposed of close-packed nanoparticles (NPs) varying in size from a few to hundreds of nanometers.Theintense interest in them is motivated not only by their important technological promise but by tunablecooperative effects of disorder,electron correlations,and quantum phenomena.Such conductors combinethe unique properties of individual and collective properties of coupled nanoparticles opening a new routefor potential novel electronic,optoelectronic,and spintronic applications.
