Alzheimers disease(AD),the most common cause of dementia among neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly population,is characterized by the degeneration of synapses and neurons from the brain,and by the accumulation of extracellular senile or neuriticplaques,constituted by deposits of β-amyloid(Aβ)peptide and neurofibrillary tangles,associated with abnormally hyperphosphorylated protein tau1.
