  Co-precipitated from related chlorides zirconia-yttria(8%mol.)gel subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 240℃ for 4h resulted in the solid solution powder of 8nm particle size and 133m3/g specific surface area.Uniaxial compaction followed by cold isostatic repressing under 300MPa lead to the compacts of about 50%relative density narrow and single-modal pore size distribution.Such compacts properties promote their intensive densification during sintering.
