Idiopathic condylar resorption (ICR) is a poorly understood disorder of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).Despite a number of theories, causation has never before been demonstrated.To explore the etiology and management for ICR,753 young patients with anterior disc displacement (ADD) and 198 cases with ICR were included.Based primarily on MRI findings, a staging system for these disorders was established, and the correlation between juvenile ADD and ICR was studied.
