Objective To understand the quality of life and mental health status of physically disabled people in Zhejiang Province and to provide basis for improving the quality of life of physically disabled people. Methods A total of 950 physically handicapped persons registered with Zhejiang Disabled Persons Federation were surveyed and interviewed by means of household survey. The questionnaire included the anxiety and depression scales of the Concise Quality of Life Scale (SF-36) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), objectively evaluating the physical and mental health of people with physical disabilities. Collect the basic information and other living conditions of persons with disabilities through interviews. Results A total of 907 valid questionnaires were collected and the effective response rate was 95.47%. The total score of SF-36 for physically handicapped persons was 60.89 and the scores of anxiety and depression were both ≥4. All dimensions of quality of life and anxiety and depression scale scores had no significant difference in gender (P> 0.05), but there were significant differences in the level of disability (P <0.01). The total score of life quality was negatively correlated with anxiety and depression (rs = -0.626, -0.639, P <0.01). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that physiological function, physical function, physical pain and general health were the influencing factors of anxiety in physically disabled persons (all P <0.05); physiological function, somatic pain and general health were the influencing factors of depression (all P <0.05 ). Conclusion The quality of life of the physically handicapped people is poor, and there are common psychological problems such as anxiety and depression, and their physiological conditions can directly affect the anxiety and depression status.
