Motivated by the heated discussion about the dispute between Hong Kong and mainland China with regard to milk powder, the current study aims to answer the following research questions: Are working professionals in China able to accept the norms and values recognized by a prestigious professional association outside of China? Does the acceptance of these norms and values influence their moral judgment on an ethical dilemma? In addition to these norms and values they personally believe in,are there other factors (i.e.,relativism and moral maturity) having impacts on their moral judgment? A structured survey was used to collect 544 valid responses in China.Empirical results prove that general ethical values are well accepted by the Chinese managers and these values, relativism, and moral maturity are significantly related to Chinese managers’ moral judgment on a hypothetical business dilemma.
