In the 1920s and 1930s, peasants in China were further involved in the market as independent market players. However, the disadvantaged status did not change by the slightest. The backwardness of the rural economy also did not change. After the founding of the Nanjing National Government, a cooperative organization with the characteristics of a modern industrial organization was introduced to try to change the above situation. On the one hand, cooperatives have organized peasants to enter the market and opened up distribution channels for agricultural products. On the other hand, cooperatives have adopted the integrated marketing model of production and marketing in their internal management, which has led to the industrialization of agricultural products. This paper argues that this is actually a useful attempt to modernize the rural economy in modern times.
