以往藏学界通常认为康区白利土司顿月杰是一个崇奉苯教、排斥一切佛教的宗教极端者,尤其仇视格鲁派,遂于1640年被与格鲁派联盟的青海蒙古势力固始汗所灭。文章通过对藏文史料的梳理发现,此看法有相当的片面性,导致对当时复杂政局的概念化、简单化理解。文章指出,顿月杰在其执政的大部分时期,宗教上均兼容和尊崇佛教各教派,并与噶玛、萨迦、宁玛甚至包括格鲁派等各教派高僧均保持着良好关系。顿月杰与格鲁派交恶也并非出于宗教异见与教派歧视,而是有复杂的政治背景,其中一个重要因素,乃是格鲁派“没有能保证蒙古人不进攻康区”。
In the past, the Tibetology community generally considered the KLCI Moonlita as a religious extremist who worshiped Bon religion and excluded all Buddhism. In particular, it hates the Gelug Sect and was subsequently captured by Gushi Mongol forces of Gushi alliance with Grupa in 1640. Off. Through the combing of the Tibetan historical materials, the article finds that this view is quite one-sided, leading to the conceptualization and simplification of the complicated political situation at that time. The article points out that during most of his reign, Dayunjie was religiously compatible and respected with all sects of Buddhism and maintained good relations with various monks and monasteries including Karma, Sakya, Nyingma and even the Gelug Sect. Instead of religious dissent and sectarian discrimination, Dayton Jie and the Gelug are also experiencing complex political backgrounds. One of the important factors is that the Gelugism “can not guarantee that the Mongols will not attack the Kashmir” .
