The younger brother who lived near San Francisco had long wanted to take me to visit the former home of Jack London, the famous writer in the country, the Valley of the Moon in Wine Country, . Taking advantage of the convenience of this trip to Taiwan, I deliberately plan to stay in San Francisco for a few days in the hope of a good tour of Moon Valley and see the places where Jack London used to live. Friday, a sunny sunny day. I started early with Odaka Kangcheng in the direction of the town of Glen Ellen. For about an hour or so we arrived at the scenic Sonoma Valley, the home of Jack London, “Valley of the Moon,” part of the valley. The reason this area is called Wine Country is because nearby is known for producing grapes and brewing wine. From a distance, it is a scenic area made up of a combination of mountains, forests, farmland and streams, with both the flavor of the fields and the pastoral atmosphere. The Jack London State Park we want to visit is right on the slopes of oak trees. The sun shone through the woods in the mountains, shone upon our faces, shone upon the wings of the birds and shone upon the rugged dirt road. No one along the way, only our two siblings. As I walked around and remembered, I remember that thirty-five years ago I was shocked when I read the English Department in Taiwan and first read Jack London’s The Call of the Wilderness and The Sea Wolf. But what I was more interested in at that time was his maritime adventure story, especially since I heard that London had built a boat and wanted to travel around the world for seven years. Although later he stopped his travel around the world because of illness (he only sailed to the South Pacific and Australia),
