The protagonist Saura is a crazy and rebellious black woman who has never been involved in Afro-American literature. Morrison, through this anti-traditional syllabus, expresses her belief in the white and black masculinity of the white hegemony culture Dominated society, and examined the unequal treatment of black women under the dual oppression of the selfless life and the imposition of black women by the patriarchal society. As a rebellious black woman, Sula has defied secularism and tradition, disregarded secular bondage and pursued self-development, and she was squeezed and negated in her pursuit of independence and self. An interpretation of Sula’s brief life reveals the path of Sula-the rose’s dying out under racial culture and sexism.
