Clodronate disodium dichloromethylene diphosphonate (Cl 2 MDP) is a potent inhibitor of bone resorption. The authors used the drug (referred to as Clo) treatment of 9 patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (hyperparathyroidism) patients. Including 1 males and 8 females, aged 61 to 72 years. Hyperparathyroidism complications include kidney stones (3 cases), bone pain (3 cases) and constipation and nocturia (1 case). Thiazide diuretics were not administered to all patients; only 1 patient had dehydration and had sodium chloride infusion for 3 days prior to the study. Biochemical evidence of normal renal function and hyperparathyroidism in all patients (long-lasting hypercalcaemia, hypophosphatemia and
