The authors have prepared an “internal image” monoclonal anti-idiotypic antibody (anti-id) that mimics the “a” determinant of HBsAg to stimulate antibody production and T cell proliferation. Later, a 15-amino acid linear peptide (2F10 peptide) was prepared from the anti-id heavy chain hypervariable region. The peptide, although qualitatively mimicking the 2F10 antibody to elicit B and T cell responses, is not as potent as the 2F10 antibody in terms of quantitation. To improve the immunogenicity of 2F10 peptide, the authors synthesized 2F10 peptide octakis
