About 1,100 million years ago, Utah and Colorado were alluvial plains dotted with lakes, criss-crossing the river. Where the climate is dry, wet two seasons. After each heavy rains, the river will rise, and then over the embankment, mixed with mud sediments rushed to the low-lying plain. There are many species of dinosaurs living on this plains, including the Utah carnivores of the meat category and the Gaston dragons of the Arctic. In addition there are fish, turtles and crocodiles in the rivers and lakes freely cruising. As early as the 1940s, people studied the ancient life in this area. Since then, the Cedars Mountain Group has become a center for studying the Early Cretaceous dinosaurs in North America.
