In recent year, there have been and ever increasing interest in international communication between the Chinese exhibition industry and the world. From 15 to 25 February, 2014, the EuroShop Business Visiting Delegation organized by China International Conference and Exhibition Agency in Beijing went to Europe, and came back with abundant fruit.
The delegation was made up of nine members, including venue management, booth design and exhibition display, and other exhibition service suppliers from China, and during the trip, exchanged their views with exhibition organizers, venue management levels, and booth design companies.
On 15 February 2014, the delegation landed in Frankfurt, Germany. Thanks to massive liaison work beforehand, the group headed for Karlsruhe in southwest Germany, and visited Trade Fair Center of Karlsruhe. As one of the biggest venues in the country, the center hosted a great number of conferences and exhibitions in the fields of IT, science, business, medicine, politics and sociology each year. The group members were invited to visit a home product fair, and admired by the sophisticated and the humanity service in the venue. In return, the delegation also promoted the China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2014) due in May, and gave a brief introduction of the current situation in China’s exhibition industry.
On 17 February, the delegation group visited the EuroShop fair. As one of the most prestigious professional event in European, EuroShop takes place every three years and is the biggest trade fair in the retailing, advertising and exhibition industry. This year, the exhibition 16 to 20 February. This year, the EuroShop revealed how retailers can put their products in the right light in the future. Lighting designers and shopfitters skillfully vied for the attention of the expert audience and showed the trends of the upcoming years. The exhibition received 2,036 exhibitors from 50 countries and 109,000 visitors from over 90 countries in an area of 107,971 square meters.
The organizer of EuroShop, Messe Dusseldorf gave a lead tour to the delegation, and expressed that through the EuroShop Shanghai in 2015, they would like to seek further cooperation in China. On 23, as the last stop of the business visit, the delegation visited the Versailles Exhibition Center and marveled at the size and great number of animals at Paris International Agriculture Exhibition.
After the visit, the delegation members gave positive feedback to the business communication, and were impressed by the superior designs at EuroShop and the first class management of exhibition site. It is hoped that through more frequent business exchanges like the delegation group, the Chinese exhibition industry will catch up with international leaders.
